PRIMP | Batiste Dry Shampoo
I am obsessed with dry shampoo. Seriously. Obsessed. You could almost call me a dry shampoo hoarder if you looked under my bathroom sink, but I prefer the term connoisseur. In my defense, Batiste Dry Shampoo was buy one get one half off at Ulta 😉 . I have tried so many dry shampoos, from high dollar to two dollar, I always go back to my tried and true Batiste! Prior to being introduced to dry shampoo, I used to wash my hair at bedtime every. single. night. Now, I wash my hair twice weekly and have reaped so many benefits. My hair is thin and fine, lacking texture and volume. Overall it is quite troublesome to style, but dry shampoo has made the struggle vastly more manageable. After showering and drying my hair, I spray dry shampoo in my clean hair before going to sleep! It sounds so silly, but it adds texture and assists my curls in lasting all day. Additionally, if you have dark locks like me the white powder is strikingly apparent. By applying prior to bedtime, it allows the shampoo to ‘activate’ and settle into your hair, diminishing any whiteness and aids in avoiding spilling your dirty little secret 😉 . Batiste also offers dry shampoos with a tint of color. If you are not adoring the white powder, ‘Brilliant Blonde,’ ‘Beautiful Brunette,’ and ‘Divine Dark,’ are perfect for you. I prefer the original white powder in the scent ‘Blush,’ of course!
PAMPER | Pond’s Cold Cream
Cold creams are known to be Granny’s little beauty secret. In this very case, it is my mother’s, my grandmother’s, my great-grandmother’s, and beyond old-school glamour method to soft, youthful skin. My mother has had a jar of Pond’s Cold Cream on her vanity for quite sometime, but the somewhat greasy, thick cream never seemed too appealing. I simply turned up my nose and maintained my usual towelette regimen for removing makeup. Since I have recently began using NeuLash, I am much more cautious of my lashes! With that being said, removing my mascara is a task and generic facial cleansing wipes unfortunately are a little too damaging. Pond’s Cold Cream, however, is not. To remove my make-up I apply a generous amount of the cold cream and massage my face in circles, from my chin to my eyes to my temples. I complete a few bedtime chores like brushing my teeth and turning down my bed, occupying a solid five minutes of time. Then, I dampen a wash cloth with warm water and remove the emulsified cream. Voila, make-up removed and moisturized skin! The cream does leave your skin feeling a little greasy, so I like to follow-up with my favorite nighttime skincare regimen. The best part is this jar is under $5 and will last you months. Cold creams are definitely a secret worth sharing!
POLISH | Fall Decorations from Rachel George
While this may be too little, too late, I have to share one of my favorite boutiques for seasonal decor! Rachel George is an online retailer of darling gold pieces, from furniture to office supplies to jewelry + accessories. Their current fall and Halloween decor has me swooning. You must check out their decorative pumpkins, they are so cute and discounted for the season! If you are a little past fall and already decorating appropriately for the arrival Saint Nicholas, they also have an abundant inventory of Christmas goodies like these stockings! Currently, I do not decorate my teenie tiny apartment for the seasons. Rarely do I entertain guests due to the lack of space and when my girlfriends and I get together it is usually a quaint wine + dine occasion. I absolutely cannot wait to marry K for many, many reasons. However, one of those reasons is to have someone to decorate our home for! While I cannot imagine he will be too enthused about gold studded pumpkins, I am ecstatic to have someone to share my seasonal decor with, which I can promise you will be from Rachel George!
PUBLISH | The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
I would love to think I am an incredibly tidy person. I have a cleaning schedule that I implement, with daily chores I complete as well as monthly tasks to maintain a spotless home. My 700 square feet I love to call home it is not too difficult, nor time-consuming to clean! However, clutter is one of my worst enemies. In small spaces, everything must have its place to avoid the dreaded messy vibes. I recently began reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. While I am only a few pages in, I cannot wait to share a review with you all and how I am using Marie’s tips + tricks in my very own home. Seriously, who knew there was a tidy way to fold and organize your socks?! It is the little things!
