Palm trees are all I need.
While that may not be completely true, I am all about the palm trees and eighty degrees. As a resident of the Midwest, beaches are not a commonality. If I am craving some vitamin sea, I usually have to settle for lake-quality. Which, let’s be honest, is lackluster in comparison.
Being a Midwestern gal, it seems so silly to say that the beach is my ‘happy place.’ Traditionally, you would think Grandma’s house or the farm (so cliché ) would be my go-to place for an overwhelming sense of comfort. However, I have only been able to find that nose-tingly, toe-curling, all-around excitement at the ocean waters. I think it is safe to say we all have that one place.
This palm tree slip dress by Topshop, as seen on The Edit | no. 6, made its way into my shopping cart in a smooth attempt to bring a taste of the tropics to Missouri. The strappy back adds a pinch of structured detail to compliment the falling frond print. I am wearing a size 0 petite, for reference. However, I stand 5′ 5″ tall and would not recommend the petite if we share the same height! It is a tad short, but my neutral palette desired the white + green combination over the equally suave pink + green style.
Have a perfect day,
