Not-so-sweet summertime… yet.
Here in good ol’ Missouri, the weather is continually changing. I can never, ever commit to fully exchanging my winter wardrobe with my summer time attire (lazy or wise, you decide!). The second I place my over-sized knits and fleece-lined leggings into storage, the local weatherman will undoubtedly predict a ‘white-out’ blizzard when only days before it was sunny and 75. While I may be slightly dramatic, there are a few wardrobe essentials that I hold tightly onto at the turn of the seasons.
One of these winter-turned-summer must-haves is a lightweight, layering sweater—sans layering in the sunshine and summertime! During the chillier months, you’ll find me flaunting this sweater layered above a flirty flannel, sleeves cuffed and all, under a cozy peacoat. With a classic pair of denim and signature boots, no amount of snowfall can deter a chic and versatile ensemble.
When the weather finally tip-toes above 70, I style this number in an opposing fashion. Pairing a lightweight sweater, like this or this, with a pair of distressed denim shorts and casual sandals is ideal for those chillier days of spring and summer. Maybe even for early morning strolls or evening celebrations!
This particular sweater is one of my favorites, it is both casual and breezy. However, you’ll want to be sure to wear nude undergarments or a white tank underneath, some of the knits may be slightly revealing. These shorts are also equally as flattering and scream the ever-desired ‘effortless casual’ look. Just be sure to size up if you would like a little more length, like me!
Have a great day!
