Last night, K and I arrived home from a mini getaway to St. Louis! Kait & ko. is a Kansas City based fashion + lifestyle blog, however, I spend most of my days in St. Louis! I am anxiously awaiting the day I can move back to to the city on a permanent basis. Although I may be slightly biased, STL just does not compare to good ol’ KC. From the skyline to the BBQ to the Royals, my heart belongs in Kansas City.
Since I am currently in Kansas City soaking up the sweet summertime and taking full advantage of the seasonal sales (cough, #NSale), K and I thought it would be optimal to give St. Louis a taste when we had absolutely no other responsibilities or worries—something we had yet to do. Generally, when K makes his monthly trip to the Lou (we have been a long-distance couple for four + years), my nose is in the books!
K adorably called it our ‘pretend married weekend.’ We challenged ourselves to stay at the apartment and cook together, pray together, and lounge together. It was a graceful change of pace from our familiar St. Louis routine. Normally we are constantly going, going, going! Between couple dates, eating out, and studying, St. Louis has always been a busy bee for our relationship.
If you are in the St. Louis area, I definitely recommending heading west to Castlewood State Park. On Sunday K and I spent the morning embracing one of God’s breathtaking creations— nature and all it’s beauty! The park provided several trails with varying difficulty, but each promised an amazing view of the Meramec River and the surrounding valleys. It doubled as an incredible workout and outdoorsy R&R. The only thing missing was my sweet little Marley!
Lastly, I finally found my Tory Burch crossbody bag in stock! For date night, I paired my go-to cognac accessories with this ruffle dress available at Shopbop. It is a fun and flirty dress, with a full layered skirt. However, it is quite thin fabric, so a slip like this is necessary. It also ran a little big, so size down for the perfect fit! I am wearing an XS for reference.
Thanks for stopping by,
