“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13.
It is nearly impossible to believe Memorial Day has already come and gone. I appreciate you all for honoring those who have fought and are still fighting for our freedom. In our hearts and in our minds I believe I can speak for most when I say I adore those who stand for all that America is today—the selfless men and women who sacrifice their lives each and every day to save ours.
Before I make an investment in a fashion piece I have quite the inner debate. I find myself asking endless questions: Are these shoes consistent with my style? Are those jeans really worth that price? Does this jacket truly vocalize the image I wish others to see in me?
Unfortunately, my inner ‘thinker’ tends to get the best of me, which is both a wonderful and terrible affair. As a result, I avoid impulse purchasing and stay true to my classic style, but I also miss out on trendy items that I over question endlessly. The seasons change and those craved items are soon gone.
This jacket is a prime example. J. Crew premiered this jacket last spring. Initially, I felt it was a little too rugged for my taste, but the classy gold buttons won me over (sparkling detailing has my heart!). By the time I convinced myself I needed a field jacket front and center in my closet, it was no longer available. I was instantly filled with regret and spent endless hours searching boutiques for a similar piece with no luck. However, J. Crew thankfully brought back their Downtown Field Jacket this past spring and it has become quite the necessity in my wardrobe.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
